February 28, 2017 – Lake County on Track Trivia Night at Bridges Scoreboard Bar and Restaurant
One Region holds an annual awards luncheon with a keynote speaker. The featured keynote speaker encourages the fundamentals of regional cooperation in working together to improve the quality of place of citizens in Northwest Indiana. Previous keynote speakers included: Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, former Governor of Indiana Mitch Daniels, former Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, Senator Evan Bayh, Mayor Mick Cornett of Oklahoma City.
In 2016, One Region launched a new award category called Quality of Place and the awards City of Hammond and the City of Michigan City received the award. The award is for a community where significant efforts have been made either recently or over a period of time to make Northwest Indiana a better place to live, work and play. Ideally, initiatives that promote quality of life, improve collaboration, create tourism experiences and develop multi-purpose gathering places.
